Over the years, MTE has been involved with many local breweries, providing engineering expertise for their visions, expansions, and most importantly their craft. These establishments not only offer exceptional beverages but also foster a sense of community, bringing people together to share experiences and celebrate local craftsmanship.

Let’s Dive into MTE’s Brewery Projects:

Cameron’s Brewery
Cameron’s Brewing is a family-owned craft brewery located in Oakville, Ontario. The brewery journey to bring craft beer to the Ontario market in 1997. What started as a hobby has since evolved into an award-winning brewery.
MTE provided structural engineering services for the addition and renovation of Cameron’s brewery.
More specifically, approximately 8,300 square feet of existing storage and warehouse space was converted into a new pub, retail, and event space. This renovation included the construction of a new 1,200 square foot mezzanine. Additionally, the project featured a proposed wood structure above the new exterior patio, the framing of new openings in the existing exterior walls, and the reinforcement of the roof structure to accommodate three new rooftop units.

Churchill Brewery
Located in Saskatchewan, Churchill Brewing Company crafts its beers using Saskatchewan malted barley and the highest quality hops. Their craft beers are batch-brewed without preservatives or additives and undergo cold filtration.
MTE provided structural engineering services for the development of Churchill Brewery. The scope of work included structural concept development, structural construction drawings and specifications. In addition, MTE provided shop drawing review, RFIs, site instructions, as well as general construction reviews.

Third Moon Brewery
Located in Milton, Ontario, Third Moon Brewery is a craft beer brewery. This Milton brewery focuses on modern beer styles, with fun and exploratory sour beers.
MTE provided civil engineering services for Third Moon Brewery, providing Sanitary Sewer By-Law Compliance. The project involved sizing, assessing, and recommending an interceptor to reduce biological oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS) loadings to the sanitary sewer.

Block 3 Brewery
Located in St Jacobs, Block Three Brewing Company has been focused on artisanal small-batch beers that showcase their craftsmanship. Visit their bottle shop and tasting room and see where they make their specialty beer or visit their 2 outdoor patios.
MTE provided structural engineering services for the structural assessment of Block Three’s production facilities. This included an assessment of the existing 6” floor slab on grade to support the addition of heavy brewing cylinders.

Waterloo Brewing
As Ontario’s first craft brewer, Waterloo Brewing opened in 1984 and continues to be dedicated to brewing great beer in the KW community. Their taphouse is a one-stop destination for craft beer, cocktails and delicious food.
Over the years, MTE has provided a variety of engineering services for Waterloo Brewing including building science, civil, and structural engineering.
Originally known as Brick Brewery, MTE provided structural engineering services for various projects, including the expansion of Brick Brewery and a structural assessment of the facility. Our structural team contributed to several key projects, including:

When Brick Brewery transitioned to Waterloo Brewing, MTE continued to provide engineering expertise for their expansion.
Our civil team provided civil engineering services for the site plan for the Waterloo Brewing building expansion. Our building engineering team completed a designated substance audit for the Waterloo Brewing building expansion. Our structural team provided structural design for the Waterloo Brewing expansion, and structural engineering for the Alcohol Tank Pad expansion, taphouse cooler, lunch and locker room conversion, the new lab office RTU, as well as the interior renovations.

Creemore Springs Brewery
Creemore Springs is a brewery located in Creemore, Ontario that first opened its doors in 1987. Founded by John Wiggins, its flagship beer is a premium amber lager crafted with specialty malts and fire-brewed in a copper kettle.
MTE provided structural engineering services for Creemore Springs Brewery, providing a structural review of portable aluminum stage created for the property, as well as the structural engineering design of an HVAC support frame for the building.

Labatt
Labatt is one of Canada’s most established businesses and leading beverage company, with a portfolio of more than 70 quality beer and six key breweries: including their London location. Over the years, MTE has delivered a range of engineering services for Labatt in London, Ontario.
MTE provided geotechnical, building engineering, civil, and structural engineering services for various projects, including renovations and expansions at the Labatt London facility, as well as improvements to the parking lot and silos.
The civil team provided civil engineering services for the site plan for the Labatt property. Our geotechnical team conducted materials testing for the site. Our structural team contributed to numerous aspects of the Labatt building, providing services for renovations that included:

Sleeman Brewery
Located in Guelph Ontario, the first Sleeman brewery opened in 1851, brewing small 100-barrel batches. Now, Sleeman is the third-largest brewing company in Canada.
MTE provided structural engineering services for Sleeman Brewery in Guelph. Our structural team provided structural engineering services for a platform extension on the property, a new bin top assembly, as well as a tank lift hoist.
