MTE's Involvement
MTE played a key role in developing the geometry, design criteria, and general arrangement for the trio of branched stacks. This included determining the overall configuration, dimensions, breeching connections, and minimum required wall thicknesses.
Our structural engineering team calculated wind loads, assessed wind-induced forces from vortex shedding, and established the necessary parameters for dynamic analysis. A computerized finite element model of the interconnected stacks was created to evaluate natural frequencies and mode shapes, ensuring structural integrity under various environmental and operational conditions.
