MTE's Involvement
As the Prime Consultant, MTE was responsible for coordinating all design teams, sub-consultants, and disciplines, managing seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project, and delivering comprehensive packages to the GTAA’s project manager. Our team oversaw the preparation of design documents for every project phase, including stockpile relocation and early works, primary security line (PSL) relocation and construction, building and hangar construction, and the ASDE radar tower relocation.
In addition, MTE coordinated essential pre-construction investigations such as hydrant flow tests, topographical surveys, and CCTV inspections of sewer lines.
To effectively manage the project’s schedule and budget, we implemented strategies including detailed budgeting, value management, critical path method (CPM) scheduling, and consistent, transparent communication among all stakeholders.
MTE also designed the foundations and superstructure for both the office and maintenance building and the pre-engineered hangar. Given the challenging soil conditions and significant lateral loads, our team evaluated multiple foundation options before selecting an innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solution: tying caissons together with post-tensioned steel bars to ensure structural integrity and performance.
