MTE's Involvement
MTE has provided a broad range of engineering services including surveying, environmental consulting, civil, and structural engineering to support ongoing development at Waterloo International Airport. Our team designed the airport’s wastewater pumping station, conducted surveying for parking lot layouts, and completed environmental site assessments.
Our civil engineering group has actively contributed to the airport’s Master Plan Implementation, which involves facility expansions. We prepared detailed planning reports supporting the extension of Runway 14-32, ensuring compliance with the federal Impact Assessment Agency of Canada’s planning process, which includes public and Indigenous community engagement.
In addition, MTE provided structural engineering services from the initial phases of the project and continued with designs for various airport features including a baggage block wall, scaffold systems, inbound canopies, washroom renovations, terminal additions, and hangar development.
