Project Overview

When the City of Woodstock embarked on plans to develop a new recreational complex and industrial subdivision in the city’s northwest region, MTE was retained to provide surveys, as well as civil and structural engineering services in support of the development. The 37.5-hectare park now features:

    • Five adult baseball diamonds;
    • Washroom / concession building;
    • Parks maintenance building;
    • Swimming pool / change Room building;
    • Splash pad / playground; and
    • Parking lots and associated roadways.
MTE’s Involvement

Our team carried out this project in six phases. During the conceptual stage, MTE prepared a number of concepts to configure the required amenities for the park. The final council approved concept for the long term development of the park will include a twin pad arena in addition to the amenities noted above. The concept also includes plans for an industrial park to be located at the north end of the site.

During the rezoning, draft plan of subdivision and site plan phases, we provided the City with legal survey, environmental, civil and structural engineering services, as well as led the project team that includes urban planning, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, archeological and landscaping consultants.

Our team also coordinated public meetings, completed site plan approvals, and tendered the work through a public procurement process in addition to providing inspection and certification services.

Additionally, the recreational complex design provided by our team includes an innovative stormwater management solution through the establishment of low impact development (LID) a demonstration site and several LID designs.
