Project Overview
A brand-new Red Hill Car Wash recently opened to the Waterdown community. Developed on a 0.36-ha property along Parkside Drive, the new facility is equipped with a 100-foot tunnel-style car wash with a conveyor belt system and six self-serve bays.
MTE’s Involvement
Our civil engineering team was first brought onto the project to complete the site grading, servicing and stormwater management design for the vacant site. As the City of Hamilton were simultaneously completing a reconstruction of Parkside Drive, our team found that this would provide storm and sanitary laterals that could be utilized to service the development.
Our structural engineers also joined the project to complete the design of the single-storey automatic car wash facility and self-serve bays. The approximately 7255-ft2 structure was constructed with concrete block walls and a precast concrete roof.
We provided support throughout the tendering process and completed construction inspections of both the civil and structural works. With construction complete, the car wash is now open and servicing customers.
