Project Overview

To accommodate growing enrollment, the St. Clair Catholic District School Board has set out to construct the new Gregory A. Hogan Catholic Elementary School. French immersion students in Sarnia will benefit from the added natural light, collaboration pods, and enhanced technology that comes with the new facility.

Designed to accommodate more than 600 students, the school will house a five-room childcare centre and a community room spanning 900 ft2.

MTE’s Involvement

In collaboration with Cornerstone Architecture, our structural engineering team has designed a two-story, 72,000-ft2 school. This design incorporates precast panels supported by load-bearing concrete masonry blocks and steel beams, bolstered by steel columns.

Throughout the construction process, our team has overseen contract administration and conducted periodic site inspections. These efforts ensure that the construction aligns with approved engineering drawings. As the project nears completion, the new school is on track to commence classes in January 2024.
