Working at MTE
We conduct a company-wide survey each year to keep a pulse on culture, team morale, what's working, and what isn't. Year after year, the results of our employee survey point to team relationships, the supportive learning environment, interesting and challenging projects, and our overall culture as the key highlights to working at MTE.
Projects are assigned based on skill level, workload, interest, and development opportunities. Through regular discussions with employees about goals and interests, managers are given an inside track on which projects fit the career arc and development of different team members.
Communication is key at MTE. Formal evaluations are conducted annually and are as much about reviewing past performance as they are about the future. During each evaluation, employees and managers will collaborate in setting goals and mapping out a path to success for the next 12 months. In addition to annual reviews, managers are encouraged to provide ongoing feedback to employees through both meetings and everyday conversation.
We strongly encourage work/life balance for all employees at all levels. We all value our personal time and we know that happy employees are productive employees, so we do our best to ensure our policies, procedures, benefit programs and retention initiatives are designed with work/life balance in mind.
Professional growth is important to MTE. Managers formally meet with employees twice per year to review performance, track progress, and set new goals in their career development.
Another part of career growth is the accessibility and opportunity to learn. With this in mind, MTE supports staff with the achievement of professional designations by providing financial support with associated fees along with the time off work needed to write exams and take courses. We encourage all team members to seek professional training opportunities both within and outside of MTE to develop their skills.

About MTE
Being employee owned means we blur the line between owner and employee. At MTE, all permanent employees are given the option to become a shareholder after their first year with the company. This gives staff of all levels the unique opportunity to be an owner of a growing company and really feel connected with the direction and success of MTE.
We are looking for people who are driven and passionate about what they do. There are many opportunities for growth within the company for those who seek it and work hard to achieve it. We have an open door policy regardless of position level and encourage staff to share their ideas.
We also distribute annual employee surveys to measure culture, psychological safety, and receive feedback that allows us to make improvements wherever we can.
MTE is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we both work and live. Whether it be participating in events with our local colleges and universities or participating in a build day for Habitat For Humanity, we try to get involved with a wide variety of organizations throughout our communities.
