Marketing Assistant

 We are currently seeking a Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing and Business Development team in our Kitchener office. This team works closely with all levels of the company to collaborate and increase brand awareness across southwestern Ontario, maintain relationships with our existing client base, help win projects with existing and new clients, support brand consistency, and assist various levels of the organization with marketing-related requests.

How does the person in this role support the success of MTE?

The Marketing Assistant helps support MTE’s Marketing and Business Development team through their marketing, communication, administrative and design skills. They are an important member of the team because they are responsible for the day-to-day activities that are essential to promoting the MTE brand with our staff, clients and community.

What does a typical day look like?

As a small team we all have the opportunity to help out on various marketing and business development projects. Your day might consist of coordinating event attendance for our staff, planning and executing our support of a community event, or ensuring staff are outfitted with the latest MTE-branded clothing. On other days you’ll be collaborating with the Marketing team on our next social media campaign, identifying and executing promotion signage opportunities, or helping our Business Development team research their next big client.

Who will you be working with?

Our Marketing team is currently comprised of three people. Laurie Stephens is the Manager of Marketing, Amy Smith is our Digital Marketing Specialist and Robbyne MacKenzie is our Proposal Coordinator. The team also works closely with our Business Development professionals: Paul Eichinger, John Goodwin and Bill Garibaldi. More accurately though, the Marketing team works with everyone at MTE. We support all levels of the company and work with different people every day.

Where will you be working?

MTE’s Kitchener office is located in a commercial area on the east side of the city, across from Bingemans and is easy to access from the Expressway. Kitchener is our largest office with over 200 people. The in-house expertise of this office includes civil, structural and environmental engineering; hydrogeology, surveying and designated substance consulting.

Desired Qualifications:

    • A degree or diploma in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications or business
    • 0-2 years of experience
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • A self-starter who can time manage multiple tasks and projects
    • A solutions-oriented mindset with an ability to use judgement
    • Driven by collaboration and helping people
    • Experience with MS office, InDesign, and website content management
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
