Guelph, ON — The Guelph Innovation District represents one of the City of Guelph’s most ambitious and transformative developments, envisioned as a complete, mixed-use community designed to support the city’s long-term growth.
Planned as a sustainable, pedestrian-focused “city within a city,” the Innovation District will integrate residential neighbourhoods, employment lands, and expansive green spaces to create a connected, livable, and resilient community.
MTE is proud to support this vision by providing geotechnical and civil engineering services for Blocks 1 and 2 of the development. Our scope of work includes environmental studies, noise impact assessments, and Master Servicing Plans—foundational elements that help enable responsible, well-planned growth.
A significant milestone was achieved recently when Guelph City Council unanimously endorsed Fusion Homes’ vision for the Innovation District, reinforcing strong municipal support and confidence in the project’s long-term benefits for the community.
Now in the planning and study phase, the project continues to advance through detailed engineering and environmental assessments. MTE looks forward to continuing collaboration with project partners as this impactful development progresses into 2026.
