MTE's Involvement
The focal point of the development is a 17-storey glass condominium tower that includes 154 one- and two-bedroom suites, designed to provide modern, upscale living in a walkable, downtown environment. For our work on this project, MTE was honoured with an Award of Distinction for Service Provider of the Year from the West End Home Builder’s Association.
Next to the condominium tower stands an eight-storey, 9,290-square-metre (100,000-square-foot) commercial office building, which houses the Burlington Healthcare Centre—a multidisciplinary medical facility designed to serve the growing needs of the local community. Connecting these two major components is a six-storey municipal parking garage that includes three shared levels of underground parking and a green rooftop to enhance sustainability. The structure is anchored by a three-storey podium featuring a stone and precast concrete façade supported by columns, designed to accommodate ground-floor retail while delivering strong architectural presence.
MTE was brought onto the project early in the design phase to provide full civil engineering services. Our team was responsible for site grading and servicing, stormwater management design, and preparing the complete site plan approval application. We also developed a Water and Sewer Usage Report, which was submitted for Regional approval. During construction, our team provided ongoing inspection and final certification services to ensure the project remained in compliance with municipal requirements and the approved design.
In addition to our civil engineering role, MTE provided full structural engineering services. This work was delivered in two distinct phases. The first phase focused on the condominium tower, for which we completed all structural design work, construction review, contract administration, and final certification. The second phase covered the structural design and review for the medical centre, retail space, and parking structure.
Having completed final construction certification for both the condominium and retail components, residents have now moved into their finished suites. Construction of the healthcare centre and municipal parking garage is currently underway, marking the final stage of this dynamic and impactful development in downtown Burlington.
