Phytoremediation is a green, inexpensive alternative to conventional remediation methods such as “dig and dump”. It involves the utilization of plants and associated bacteria to clean contaminated sites. Phytoremediation can be used as mitigation measures in support of Risk Assessments or Brownfield Sites, to decontaminate wastewater and to treat acid mine drainage and landfill leachates. Methods are chosen based on careful analysis of environmental parameters, regional limitations, legislative regulations, and financial constraints. This technique can be used for in-situ and onsite decontamination of wastewater, groundwater, stormwater run-off, sediments and soil.
We have the experience and knowledge to provide strategic input for guiding Phytoremediation Techniques:
|
- Constructed Treatment Wetland Design
- Vegetated Filterstrip Design
- Hybrid Poplar Pump and Treat Systems
- Phytostabilization covers for Slopes, Landfills, Mine Sites
